Child Care Network Publishes New Training Schedule
September 5, 2008
Child Care Network has released its training schedule for fall and
winter sessions. Posted at www.childcarenetwork.org, the
thirty-year-old non-profit agency offers a wide variety of classes
that meet the State of Michigan’s mandatory training requirements
for child care providers. Child Care Network offers workshops,
seminars, and correspondence classes in many different time
periods. A new online class has been added this fall after a
successful summer beta test. The course covers the Administrator,
Part One, requirements.
“Ongoing training increases the quality of care that children
receive. Research supports this fact and Michigan children deserve
access to quality care,” shared Pam Smith, Executive Director. “We
also encourage parents to use our services and learn more about
early childhood education. Our resource library is a wonderful
place to start.”
Training is held in Washtenaw, Lenawee, Jackson and Monroe
counties. Hillsdale providers are encouraged to participate at
these locations or to actively engage in online or correspondence
classes.
“Online classes help to meet the busy schedules of home
providers and childcare center staff who need the flexibility that
online classes provide,” said Kathleen Burchi, Professional
Development Coordinator. “We have also planned an extensive
classroom schedule to cover a wide variety of needs, experience
levels and schedules.”
Child Care Network is the community’s cornerstone for child
care resources, referrals, professional development and family
support services. Support for the agency comes from city, county
and state funding as well as public and private donors. For more
