The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County Welcomes New Leadership to Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti

The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County (TSA-WC) recently announced
new leadership at its Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Corps. Major
John Williams and Major Dianna Williams will head up the Ann Arbor
Corps, while Corps Administrator Jim Hulett will lead operations at
the Ypsilanti Corps.
“We are very grateful to have Major John, Major Dianna
and Jim on board with The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County,” said
Major Norman Marshall, Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army
Eastern Michigan Division. “I had a hand in the selection of these
new leaders because I am fully confident that their combined
leadership experience will prove to be extremely valuable and will
help The Salvation Army continue servicing those in need in
Washtenaw County.”
Majors John and Dianna Williams begin their new positions with
more than 20 years of administrative and pastoral service with The
Salvation Army. Their most recent position was in the Flint
area.
Major John previously served as Genesee County
Commander in Flint. He has also served as corps officer, addictions
program administrator, general secretary in the Adult
Rehabilitation Centers Command and Property Secretary at
Territorial Headquarters, located in Des Plaines, IL. In addition
to serving as corps officer in Ann Arbor, he will serve as
Washtenaw County Coordinator.
Major Dianna previously served as corps officer in
Waukegan, Ill. She has also served as an addiction program director
of special services and director of personnel in the Adult
Rehabilitation Centers Command. Most recently she served as
corps officer at Flint Beecher and as the Genesee County Command
Director of Special Ministries.
Majors John and Dianna have been married for 35 years
and have two married sons and five grandchildren who live in Myrtle
Beach, SC.
Hulett brings more than 24 years of Salvation Army
experience to his new position. As corps administrator, he plans to
develop youth programs within the community and form relationships
with Eastern Michigan University outreach programs.
Hulett graduated with a Liberal Arts degree from Asbury
College in Kentucky and shortly after began his career with The
Salvation Army, where he served as Christian Education Director and
Red Shield Lodge Director in Miami, Fla. Prior to Hulett moving to
Ypsilanti with his wife Jan, he served 21 years as community center
director at TSA’s Dearborn Heights Corps. The couple has four
children; one son attends Eastern Michigan University.
The Salvation Army (TSA) is a Christian, charitable
organization dedicated to serving people in need without

years, the non-profit addresses the physical and spiritual needs of
the area through various programs and service centers located in
Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Essential services provided by TSA of
Washtenaw County include a food pantry, soup kitchen, clothing, a
family shelter, transitional housing and counseling for veterans,
character building for youth, camp programs, emergency and disaster
relief, utility assistance and eviction prevention.
