August 18, 2008

The report looks at where young talent is living in the Great Lakes. This is the report that provides the details for the maps many of you have seen of young talent concentrations in metro Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing compared to metro Chicago, Minneapolis and Madison.

The bottom line: metro Detroit needs to add 14,000 young professionals to be at the same proportion as metro Chicago and Minneapolis. The metro Grand Rapids gap with metro Chicago and Minneapolis is 35,000. For metro Lansing it’s about 10,000 compared to metro Madison. For all of our big metros that is about a 50% increase.
