Young Talent in the Great Lakes: How Michigan is Faring

The report looks at where young talent is living in the Great
Lakes. This is the report that provides the details for the maps
many of you have seen of young talent concentrations in metro
Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing compared to metro Chicago,
Minneapolis and Madison.
The bottom line: metro Detroit needs to add 14,000 young
professionals to be at the same proportion as metro Chicago and
Minneapolis. The metro Grand Rapids gap with metro Chicago and
Minneapolis is 35,000. For metro Lansing it’s about 10,000 compared
to metro Madison. For all of our big metros that is about a 50%
increase.
